I was searching Turbo under 2600 bucks on CL and found this beautiful bird.
A 86 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe. The big luxo version of a Mustang SVO.
EDIT: for a question. Does anyone know if these have factory LSDs like a Mustang GT/SVO?

Do want.
Of the ninth and tenth gen birds, only the forced induction models came with Manuel, and was the only option for most (probably all).

I like these, but why is this one so expensive?
I wouldn't speed 2600 on it when I could get a regular one with a V8 for $1500.
It's not a spectactuluarly pretty or important model year, so I wouldn't bother with rarity and just get the cheap one if I was in the market for a Thunderbird from this era.

I was referring to the DIY gear selector.

That explains it, but I'd still just get the cheap one and throw the cash I saved at some parts.

I'd get that one before the I get the 4 pot or a Mustang even; miles are very high though, but the price is good.

There's just something... likable about these cars. I'm just fond of them somehow.

I think it's the "so ugly it's cute" effect.

I think think the later Tbirds are ugly. The 86 looks cooler to me.

Meh. I wouldn't descibe many cars from the 80s or 90s as good-looking. Low point of automotive design imho.

It will have a Trac Lock diff.
It's not an ideal rear end if you plan to make a lot of power or drive aggressively though (7.5" ring gear).
I'd hold out for an 87 or 88 though. They only had minor changes but they made for a much better car.
